KY, Morehead - BEAR 6 y/o Blk&Tan - has until Fri 8/29

Bear's time is almost up. He must get out the clinic. His board bills are astronomical and I cannot continue to board him at the clinic. I cannot bring him to my house. He is HW neg, UTD, his ears have been treated and he has to go. Bear has until Friday the 29th.

UPDATE: Bear has infections in both ears which are causing him pain. I told the vet to begin treatment. I need help with his bill.

Bear's former owner was going to dump him "somewhere" but one of my vet techs intervened. Bear is now at the clinic. I told them to update his vaccinations. He needs rescue ASAP so another big board bill does not run up. The girls at the clinic really like him and tell me he is very mellow for a GSD. He is 80 pounds and approx 6 years old.

LA, Baton Rouge - 79 Dogs Seized - 7 young GSDs need help!

Big seizure in West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana

79 dogs taken in so far... mostly German Shepherds, Whippets and Poodles

They were living in filthy pens, in urine and feces. There were piles of feces that had built up so much that it was one big cake of feces. There were multiple dogs to a pen. The animals were staying on a vacant property, the owner would come and put down entire bags of dog food so that the dogs would have food for a few days. She was a breeder turned hoarder.

None are spayed/neutered.

Small Parish Animal Control is overwhelmed. All dogs would have been euthanized on Monday, except Diane made a donation buying them one more week.

8 GSDs appear to be 1 and 2 yr olds. Plus at least 3 more that the owner is refusing to release.

These dogs have not been altered or vaccinated and most likely will test HW+

This guy has seen Passover twice now. Is there anyone that has room for this guy. I don't think he is that old. Long story - short version - he needs help getting out. I'll try to check him out today. The kennel workers say he is a sweetheart. Getting him out won't be the problem. Getting him transported may be the main issue.

I don't think it is a stretch to say that this GSD would be better off anywhere else than his current location (at least from what I see in the pics)!! Blacky A775818 8 year old male German Shepherd, 73 pounds, mild temperament, no URI. BLACKY IS A VERY SWEET DOG, LIKES TO BE PETTED, FRIENDLY.

Owner surrender, moving. Dog is slightly nervous, but very friendly. Nice dog, favorite among the medical staff.

Blacky is a gorgeous male, also a staff favorite. He is majestic and walks nicely on the leash. Housebroken of course. Although many dogs were outside, Blacky did not display ANY aggression toward other dogs met outside or through the pen. He takes gently food from the fingers. Blacky knows his basic commands. He is not at all hyper though lively. Very well behaved dog, clearly owned. A beautiful gait

limited oral exam due to behavior.

no cracked tooth seen , but sitll possible

if cracked may need extraction at outside DVM

Phobea is a beautiful dog. She is stressed and a little skittish but never aggressive toward people or other dogs met on the roof. She behaves like a "velcro " dog and loves to sit and stay at her caretaker sides where she enjoys brushing and legs massage. She walks nicely on the leash. She knows the sit and stay commands. She was found wondering on State Route 170. She is very friendly and loving. Anna seems to get along with dogs and people and is pretty laid back. She was not wearing ID or a collar. She appears to be in good health and spirits. No one has called to report her lost/missing. She has been given a parvo/distemper vaccine and has been wormed for 3 days with panacur.

She is scheduled to be euthanized on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27TH

GA - GSD Wolfdog needs rescue or....

Picked up this dog from a friend that got him from a very neglectful owner. When my buddy got him the tips had been chewed off of both ears by flies, he was grossly underweight, and he was very very dirty.

I picked "Shep" up Monday evening and drove an hour back to my house with him sitting right beside me panting, wagging his tail, and occasionally hanging his head out of the window. Just as happy looking as a dog can be.

I pull in the driveway and turn the car off and he lunged and bit my face. His bottom jaw was just shy of my ear and his top jaw about halfway around the other side of my face. The bite tore my lip and left tooth indentions all the way around my jaw line. I didnt' say or do anything, I just calmly got out of the car bleeding like a stuck pig.

I walked around to the other side and opened the door to attatch his leash and he was sitting there wagging his tail. Strange...... First he attacks unprovoked and then 10 seconds later he's as happy as a peach. I clipped him up, brought him inside and put him in the spare bedroom while I called my buddy to update him.

After that I fed him dinner. He sat calmly while I mixed his food on the counter and then ate while I scratched his back. No food aggression at all, even when I moved his bowl an inch or two.

After dinner I took him out in the backyard and let him explore for a few minutes. After he got done watering all the plants he came bounding over and leaned on my legs wagging his whole backside like a puppy. I brushed him for about 10 minutes with my furminator, you could have built a new german shepherd out of all that hair! The brushing seemed to be his favorite part of the day.

It was about 11:30 so we packed it in and called it a night. He slept good and quiet the whole night on the floor by the door. Got up the next morning and turned on the light beside the bed and he popped up and growled. Understandable since he has probably never spent a single night in a house. I called his name and he snapped out of it.

I took him out for a pee first thing, I was tickled that he didn't wet on the floor the whole time. Once we got back in I fed him breakfast and I let him eat while I got dressed for a hike at the park. I was coming out of my bedroom with the leash in my hand and he was halfway down the hall with his teeth barred, snarling and slowly approaching. This wasn't a defensive type of "leave me along" growl, this was a dog ready for war.

I closed the door to my room and he continued growling. I stayed there trying to figure out what to do since the hallway is the only way out of the house. He was now sitting in the middle of the hallway with his teeth barred and snapping at the air in my direction. I've never seen anything like it before, it's like he was trying to hold me there.

I stepped towards him with the leash in one hand and very slowly walked around him. He never got up, but he continued to bare his teeth until I was all the way around him and into the kitchen. I backed my way all the way to the door and went outside to start the car.

When I cracked open the door to see where he was, he was standing in the kitchen wagging his tail. It was hard to believe that this was the same dog that 30 SECONDS ago was barring his teeth at me.

I decided against a trip to the park and instead I put him in the backyard and went to Petsmart to pick up a collar for him (all I had left were slip chain and prongs). When I got back he greeted me at the gate just as excited as ever.

I walked in the backyard and sat down on the stairs without saying anything or paying him any attention. He jumped up on the porch and sat down beside me panting. So I reached over and gave him a good scratching.

I should have taken a video so that you could see how fast his demeanor changes, it's unlike anything you've ever seen before.

After about 5 minutes of attention he flipped out again. He just started growling for no reason.  He walked around behind me growling for about 15 seconds non-stop. I snapped a picture under my arm.

I had seen everything I needed, so I loaded him back up to take him back to Covington. He was being his sweet self in the car for about 15 minutes and then he jumped in the back seat and had another "episode" of growling.

Rescue is this dogs ONLY hope and even then he will need a lot of work. I've never seen a dog flip out like this without any type of trigger.  When I got back to the guy's house that's been keeping him he told me that he lunged after a friends wife without cause as well.

This dog is very sweet most of the time and I can offer no explanation for the random fits of aggression. If anyone knows of a German Shepherd or a Wolfdog rescue that wants him, please contact me.

I received this today. I tried to post his picture but I'm not sure I'm doing it right.

The shelter says: prev owner got him from a lady in custer that threatened to shot him if she didn't take the dog.(she is a deputy from custer) at the time that she got the dog she was allowed 2 dogs but had since changed policy and can only have one dog. she kept her other dog because she has had that dog for 3 months vs having this dog for 1 week. she paid a surrender fee but i don't think she should be on the do not adopt list. he knows sit,fetch and is good at pheasant hunting, was learning duck hunting. really good w children even tho he didn't live w them

He's a heartbreaker. They post NO information and have no email address. I'd say from the photo that he is submissive and definitely depressed. He doesn't even bother to acknowledge the person with the camera. He just doesn't care any more.

The shelter says: WE ARE SO FULL RIGHT NOW!!! Dogs are 2 or 3 or 4 per kennel and the cat cages are full and we even have cats set up in the hallway!!

home and have no one to take him. He's 11 years old and about 100
pounds. He has lived with kids but not other animals. He has lived
outside for several years but is well cared for and healthy. He just
needs a loving home to live out his remaining years. According to the
family he is healthy, a little overweight, but in good shape. He's been
kept up to date on shots. Heartworm negative. He doesn't race around,
probably due to his age and weight. He's very clean and well cared for.
He's very sweet and passed temp testing. He's a beautiful dog and would
do well with the right family for his remaining years. Thanks for all

Hello,
My son and I are looking to find loving home for our German Shepherd, Mya. After a divorce two years ago we were forced to live in a rental home that did not allow pets. My sons dog Mya went to live with his father. His father is moving, and can no longer keep her, and has given her to his sister. She would only keep her for a couple of weeks. I am desperate to find a permanent home for Mya.

Mya is a seven year old spayed female. She is great with kids, and other dogs. She went to 4-H classes when she was 2 and 3. At these classes she participated in agility, and although she never competed, she enjoyed being with other dogs. She has never had any health issues, and her only bad habit is that she like to play with the hose. She has chewed several in an attempt to play with the water.

I have attempted to contact the local rescue, and they are uneasy with taking a German Shepherd. I have to move her again this week, she will have to stay in a barn. If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. We love her so much, and this is tearing my heart out. We will have to be sure that she is going to a good home, so serious inquiries only.
